May We Serve You?

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 NIV

I was sad to hear the other day that one of our members of our Parish was in and out of the hospital and we did not hear about it. We were not there to help them with prayers and concern during that time.

Since 2002, the HIPAA Privacy Rule requires that medical facilities will not give out any information on a patient without permission. This includes where you are in the hospital or not.

Our lay visitors, parish and people who pray for the ill, the Parish Office, and me rely on people contacting the Parish Office when they are in the hospital or receiving some form of medical procedure in order to know if an individual would like pastoral care during these times. Our visitors and clergy also call upon in the hospital any identified Episcopalian to minister to their needs. If you don’t identify yourself, we may not hear about it.

You need not have your name published but we can as a community pray, clergy anoint with oil for healing, and be with you during these times.

Please call or have someone contact the Parish Office during these times.

If this is a ministry as a disciple you are called to do to serve Jesus and the Church, we can always use more people as lay Eucharistic ministers, friendly visitors to our elderly, or a church companion to someone. Please contact me at 231.313.7235 or leave me a message at the Parish Office of your interest.

Please, let us serve you.

Peace+
